Global names aren’t born. They’re built.

That's the consensus among the naming experts of We Are Naming, an international network of independent namers and small naming studios. (Wild Geese Studio is, proudly, its U.S. partner.)

Our collective expertise represents hundreds (maybe thousands) of naming projects resulting in names that need to speak to people who speak different languages.

We vary in our perspectives about how to define a global brand name, or what its core qualities might be, but we do agree on this one thing: no brand name is global right out of the gate.

You have to build its path intentionally, sometimes over a long period of time.

In the first volume of this series, we gathered input via our regular meetings, a survey, and even our group Whatsapp chats to think through what it takes to build a name that works everywhere it needs to.
